Han is saved from carbonite

In Star Wars: Episode VI – Return of the Jedi, Luke and Leia aim to free Han from his carbonite prison. He’s trapped at Jabba The Hutt’s palace on Tatooine.

Leia is able to free Han from carbonite after infiltrating the palace under the guise of a bounty hunter. She’s quickly found out and captured, but Luke arrives to negotiate their release.

Negotiations go awry and Luke is dropped into a Rancor pit. Using his wit, Luke is able to trap the Rancor in the deadly spikes that line the bottom of the pit’s door. He is then to be executed for defeating the beast, but luckily has a lightsaber stashed away inside R2-D2 that is used to free the group.

Luke informs R2-D2 that they’re going to the Dagobah system in order to keep a promise to an old friend.

Once Luke arrives at Dagobah, he enters Yoda’s home and sits with him. Yoda, in his special manner of speech, asks Luke if he seems old to him. The Jedi Master says he has become sick, old and weak. His personality has shifted to a more serious tone, opposite of when he acts crazy in Empire Strikes Back.

After 900 years, Yoda says in his manner of speech, you don’t look so good. He approaches a sitting area in his home, declaring he’ll soon take a “forever sleep” that’s well earned.
