Demon Slayer’s good ending in the final chapters
Chapter #204 takes place 3 months following the final battle against Muzan. Tanjiro lays in a Butterfly Mansion bed while Nezuko, who is now human again, admires the Sakura trees outside the window.
Demons have been successfully eradicated from the world, but at the cost of every Hashira’s life besides the Water and Wind. Tanjiro’s left arm is destroyed from his temporary demonification, and he is also partially blind.
Meanwhile, the final Hashira meeting is taking place. The Demon Slayer Corps informs Sanemi and Giyu about its disbandment. Demons leaving the world removes the use of the Slayers.
Tengen and his wives happily greet Tanjiro at his bed. Rengoku’s family, Senjuro and Shinjuro, meet him as well. The flame Hashira’s father thanks Tanjiro for using Rengoku’s handguard during the final battle against Muzan.
Final chapters confirm different couples
Then, the chapter begins to pair the final relationships together. Inosuke falls in love with Aoi when he realizes that her senses are strong and her willingness to cook meals for him is admirable.
Tanjiro joins Kanao outside the “Victory” tree. The first user of Flower Breathing plants it long ago. He notices Kanao’s kindness in that she’d alert the tree of their victory against Muzan, and she reveals that she still has some vision left in her eyes as well.
Sanemi and Nezuko repair their broken dynamic. The Wind Hashira originally hated her and was not accepting. He sees his younger brother’s attitude in Nezuko, and gives her a pat on the head.
Finally, Giyu and Urokodaki join Tanjiro and Nezuko. The group shares a big hug, as they were the original 4 characters in the show.
Tanjiro, Nezuko, Zenitsu, and Inosuke all pay tribute to the fallen demon slayers’ who sacrificed themselves for victory. The group then returns to Tanjiro’s childhood home and lives out the rest of their days in peace.
The following chapter displays a timeskip deep into the future. Thanks to the eradication of demons, society was able to progress quickly and now resembles modern day. The chapter confirms the ancestors of Nezuko and Zenitsu, as well as Tanjiro and Kanao, and finally Inosuke and Aoi.
So that’s the answer. Demon Slayer does indeed have a good ending. The slayers defeat Muzan and eradicate the demons from the world. All remaining characters are paired up into couples, and a timeskip is shown of a modern world that progressed without demons getting in the way.
