He has a lot of contempt for his bosses, but why does Gojo hate the higher ups?
Gojo has hate for the higher ups because he thinks they’re losing relevance. The new generations of both special-grade curses and sorcerers are beyond what was thought to be possible. Gojo considers it an inevitability that a higher up’s power will be brought into question.
The lack of transparency also frustrates Gojo. It’s obvious the higher ups are sabotaging Yuji Itadori’s success, but they won’t openly admit it to Gojo.
Considering Gojo has the legendary Six Eyes technique, he is already much stronger than any other higher up. He simply offers a warning that new generations will continue to view their teachers as less respectable over time. The average strength of a sorcerer will continue to rise.
Gojo explains his hate for the higher ups
In chapter #18, Yoshinobu Gakuganji, the Kyoto Jujutsu High School Principal, waits for a supposed meeting with Principal Yaga.
In Yaga’s place, Gojo opens the sliding door and sits on the couch opposite of Yoshinobu. Gojo says he forced Ijichi into giving a fake schedule for the day.
Gojo begins right away with accusations. He says that a conservative leader like Yoshinobu must be involved with Yuji Itadori’s execution request.
Yoshinobu takes it as an insult. He says the youth today don’t know how to speak with respect. Gojo fires back quickly, saying “I don’t intend to.” It pisses Gojo off how “how and mighty” old-folks are these days.
The previous night, two unknown special-grade curses attacked Gojo. He deals with special-grade curses all the time. Yet, it is odd how the curses are able to communicate on a fluent level. Gojo suspects more curses exist on their advanced level.
An incident with Suguru Geto last year, as well as a vessel of Sukuna awakening, signals a changing of the times.
“The wave of power that you guys have been ignoring to maintain your status and in the name of stupid traditions… Has gotten huge and is approaching.”
Gojo to Yoshinobu | Chapter #18
The new generation is not limited to special-grade, Gojo explains. He says if the Principal thinks that Gojo is the only one who will question his authority, he’ll be in for a world of hurt.
So that’s the answer. Gojo has hate for the higher-ups because they’re losing relevance. They’re also intentionally sabotaging Yuji Itadori, who Gojo is training by telling him to watch movies.
