Yes, Todoroki does care about Endeavor. Deku suggests that Todoroki wants to forgive his father, but isn’t ready. Todoroki also collapses in relief after Endeavor survives his fight against the Nomu.
Endeavor has been making efforts in recent chapters to salvage the relationship with his family. Recognizing this, Todoroki begins to ease up on his father and welcomes the efforts.
There are many reasons why Todoroki hates his Dad. The father’s abuse put Todoroki’s mother into the hospital, and the entire family began out of Endeavor’s quest to create a two-quirk child.
Todoroki’s sister hosts a dinner party
In chapter #249, Todoroki, Deku, and Bakugo are invited to eat dinner at the Todoroki household. His siblings, Natsuo and Fuyumi, prepare a dinner for the group to eat. Endeavor is invited as well.
The dinner becomes awkward when Natuso can’t hold in his hate for their father. He leaves the dining room and the dinner party abruptly breaks up.
Todoroki and Fuyumi begin cleaning the table after the uncomfortable dinner. Fuyumi says she shares their brother Natsu’s resentment towards Endeavor, but she feels they’ve been given another chance.
She asks Todoroki his thoughts on Endeavor trying to correct the bad behavior and become a better father.
“This burn, I think of it as something our old man gave me,” Todoroki says. He says their mother endured Endeavor’s abuse for as long as she could before breaking down. Their mother’s snap decision to burn Todoroki’s face was the result of her reaching her limit with Endeavor.
Todoroki’s mother says she wants to look past that now, but he still isn’t sure how to feel. He says he still hasn’t “seen anything” that would make him feel differently about his father.
Deku answers if Todoroki does care about Endeavor
Deku and Bakugo then enter the dining room. He apologizes for eavesdropping, but Deku offers Todoroki his insight. “Todoroki,” Deku said. “I think you’re getting yourself ready to be able to forgive him.”
Since Todoroki is so caring, Deku continues, it is like he’s waiting. Todoroki can’t help but forgive Endeavor, even if he’s not ready to admit it.
Another bit of evidence that Todoroki cares about Endeavor occurs after the Nomu fight. Endeavor is pushed to the brink but is able to win the battle. Todoroki, watching on TV, collapses out of relief that his father survives.
