Why Does Gaara’s Father Hate Him?

Gaara’s childhood was filled with lies and betrayal. But why does Gaara’s father hate him?

Gaara’s father has hate for hate him because he couldn’t control the One-Tailed Shukaku. The tailed beast’s sand was attacking villagers, and with Gaara being used as a potential weapon anyways, his father called for his removal.

The One-Tailed Shukaku was implanted within Gaara at birth. The sealing process took his mother’s life as he was born.

In chapters #129 through #132, Gaara’s childhood backstory is explained. He had a tailed beast sealed within, making him a jinchuriki-child along with Naruto. Gaara’s mother did not survive his birth and he was largely raised by his aunt, Yashamaru, under instruction by the Fourth Kazekage.

Gaara’s experience as a jinchuriki was worse than Naruto’s. Whereas Naruto was ostracized and generally ignored by the public, the strength of the One-Tailed Shukaku sealed within Gaara would lash out and hurt those around him.
