Why Didn’t Sasuke Get A New Arm?

Throughout Boruto: Naruto Next Generations, Sasuke is always seen with one arm. He lost it during his final battle against Naruto, but why didn’t Sasuke get a new arm?

Sasuke didn’t get a new arm because he wanted to see the shinobi world as his current self. He was pardoned for his crimes and left the village in chapter #699 for “a journey of atonement.” Getting a new arm would symbolically disrespect his self growth and acknowledgement of his troubled past.

Naruto did receive a new arm made from Lord Hasirama’s cells.

Plot Behind Why Sasuke Didn’t Get A New Arm

In chapter #699, as thanks for undoing the Infinite Tsukuyomi, Sasuke was pardoned for his crimes committed prior to the Fourth Ninja War. A good word from war hero Naruto and Hokage Kakashi helped the pardons go through.

Sasuke to Sakura | Chapter #699

Sasuke would never get his appendage back for the remainder of Naruto Shippuden, as well as Boruto. Even as the show has gone on and Sasuke becomes increasingly more reformed, he still never reaches out for a new prosthetic appendage. He may feel that his journey of personal atonement for his wrongdoings is yet to be satisfied.

That’s the answer. Sasuke didn’t get a new arm because he wanted a constant reminder of his troubled past. His self journey of personal atonement would feel cheated by replacing the lost arm which represented the build up of all his sins.
