The growth of Deku’s quirk, his favoritism from All Might and staying on a consistent hero promotion path has caused Bakugou to feel jealous and non-acceptive of his own shortcomings compared to Deku.
The dynamic between Bakugou and Deku has improved in recent story developments, but the two were completely non-compatible in early seasons and chapters of My Hero Academia. Deku always tried to stay friendly to Bakugou, but was denied routinely.

Deku cares about Bakugou because he respects him. Throughout the series, Deku has used Bakugou as a reference for the strength he should strive for. He’s idolized his natural quirk ability since the two were young children.
No matter how much Bakugou disrespects Deku or tries to push him away, Deku considers their dynamic too influential on the growth of their quirks to ever disband the friendship. As the series has gone on, the awkwardness of their friendship has slowly begun to fade. Bakugou no longer pretends that Deku’s quirk is not impressive, and the two have worked together on multiple occasions and proved their worth in a cooperative nature.
Deku’s intuition was right to not abandon Bakugou. The two will likely rise the hero ladder together with a stronger understanding of one another as they grow.
Why Does Bakugou Have Anger Issues?
Bakugou has anger issues due to the way he was raised and a superiority complex that began in childhood. Bakugo was destined to be a strong hero from a young age, and to see others surpass him and become more seasoned heroes causes him to feel anger. His mother also expressed her frustrations through anger. Aizawa witnessed this when speaking with student’s parents about the students moving into a dorm on campus.
