Danzo inevitably ends up using the Reverse Four Symbols Sealing in an effort to kill Sasuke and Tobi in one final blast, but the pair escape the fūinjutsu’s range. Danzo still accomplished destroying Shisui’s Sharingan to prevent Tobi from having it.

Why does Sasuke fight Danzo?
Sasuke wants to kill all village elders associated with the Uchiha clan massacre. He blames the Elders, Danzo and The Third Hokage for assigning Itachi the mission to destroy his own clan. Danzo’s appearance at the Five Kage Summit was seen as an opportunity for Sasuke to reap revenge.
At this point in the series, the rising threat of the Akatsuki had forced each village’s Kage to convene for a summit to discuss the issue. The Five Kage Summit arc follows the Pain’s Assault arc, and the anime-only arc “Past Arc: The Locus of Konoha,” which showed flashbacks from multiple characters aired in between.
How did the two match up?
Danzo’s right arm had been modified with ten different Sharingan and mixed with Hashirama Senju’s DNA. He could perform the forbidden technique Izanagi, which allows the user to cast a physical illusion upon themselves to repel injury received from an opponent. The only catch is that for every minute the Izanagi remains active, Danzo loses one of his right arm’s ten Sharingan. Danzo focused on nature transformation ninjutsu, with a specialization in Wind Release, exhaling to shoot out bullet style wind-ammo. His Genjutsu knowledge made it difficult for Sasuke to lure him in.
This fight showed off primarily the growth of Sasuke’s Susannoo and his Genjutsu prowess. After the fight, his Sharigan had reached its ceiling of use, and he ultimately decided to transplant Itachi’s eyes to replace his own in order to unlock the Eternal Mangekyō Sharingan in order to have enough strength to take on Naruto Uzamaki.
Sasuke vs. Danzo’s episode #209 fight showed a lot of growth for Sasuke as a Genjutsu and Sharingan user, but ultimately led him further down the path of revenge as he sacrificed Karin during a hostage situation and confronted Team 7 moments later.
