Can You Get a House in Goodsprings?

It’s the first town you enter, and for some, you may want to settle down there. That being said, there might not be property available. Can you get a house in Goodsprings (Fallout: New Vegas)?

No, you cannot get a house in Goodsprings (Fallout: New Vegas). However, Victor’s Shack is an excellent unofficial home for the player.

Your items will not de-spawn over time. The shack also has plenty of amenities, including storage, radiation-free drinking water, and a bed.

An unofficial house in Goodsprings

Victor’s Shack, located near the outskirts of Goodsprings, is an excellent player home. The player is able to enter the unlocked shack at any point in the story, even if Victor stands right in front of it.

While entering, the player will notice the small size. Regardless, it can prove immensely functional for the player.

It contains many amenities that will be useful to the player. The home contains an unowned bed, as well as a radiation-free sink. These items will prove invaluable for those playing on Hardcore difficulty.

While playing Hardcore, the player is still welcome to fast travel. This means the Courier can fast travel to Goodsprings and replenish their thirst and sleep meters.

The shack also contains two different ammunition boxes. Our boxes contained 11 9mm rounds, 27 energy cells, and a Stealth Boy. These may be randomized depending on the player.

A desk can also be used as a bit of storage, in addition to the ammunition boxes. Pieces of scrap metal are also littered around the shack, which can be used early on to repair ED-E at Primm.

The shack also contains a few cosmetic touches that make it feel more like home. There’s an oven, a bathtub, and plenty of counter space.

So that’s the answer. You can’t get a house in Goodsprings (Fallout: New Vegas), but you can take over Victor’s Shack.
